TWO DAY TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Location: Jaycee Park. 2405 Wade Ave, Raleigh, NC 27607 

 

Saturday, June 22:  Round Robin Tournament. 24 teams split into 4 pods compete in round robin play, cities are divided among the pods evenly.
 

Sunday, June 23: Double Elimination Tournament. All teams advance to play.

RULES

TEAMS

24 Teams Spots

  • 14 spots reserved for Stonewall Sports cities: 1 spot guaranteed to each Stonewall city (if any city doesn't use their allocated spot by 04-05-19 at 11:59pm ET, the available spots go into the at-large pool)

  • 5 spots held aside for non-Stonewall cities (if unused by 04-05-19 at 11:59pm ET, the available spots will go into the at-large pool)

  • 5 at-large spots (from 03-27-19 at 12:00pm ET through 04-05-19 at 11:59 p.m.ET); max 1 initial at-large spot may be used per Stonewall city. Remaining teams will be moved to a waitlist and will receive a spot in order of registration once additional spots are added to the at-large pool.

  • Each team must have a minimum of 1 player who identifies as LGBTQ and/or a player that has played in a Stonewall Sports league in the last 12 months.

PLAYERS

8-12 Players - 8 on the court max with up to 4 rotating subs.

REGISTRATION

Wednesday (03-27-19) at 12:00pm ET - Friday (05-31-19) at 11:59pm ET

COSTS

$45 Per Player (plus processing fees.) Includes tournament t-shirt/uniform (must be worn Saturday; Sunday teams may wear their own uniforms), water, awards, local food and drink specials, and an all-access pass to weekend social events!

TEAM STATUS

A team is only considered a team when 8 players have registered and paid. Roster substitutions will only be allowed until Wednesday (06-03-19). After Wednesday (06-03-19), no players can be added, changed OR refunded unless cleared by the Tournament Chair.

UPCOMING DATES

We will be hosting two virtual ref clinics, for which all teams are required to send at least two players. The first will be on Thursday, June 13th at 7 PM EDT (6 PM CDT) and the second will be on Monday, June 17th at 9 PM EDT (8 PM CDT). 

All details outlined above are subject to change at the Tournament Chairs’ discretion. Captains will be expected to be the main communication channel for their players. All questions and issues should be brought to the Sports Directors to be resolved. Player conduct and game integrity is core to providing a positive experience for all. Tournament Leadership will have the express right to remove or ban a player without refund for violations of our player conduct policy.
